Training

Most people can learn to ride a bike in less than an hour.

Whether you are a complete beginner or a regular cyclist, Cyclemagic can help you become a more skilful and safer cyclist. We offer training for both adults and children, and from novice to advanced on-road techniques. The training syllabus meets the National Standards and is suitable for individuals and small groups.

Complete Beginners

If you can not ride a bike we will try to get you riding on the first session. Our experienced and friendly instructors willwork with you to understand and help you achieve your goals and get you riding safely and confidently. As you progress you will improve your control skills and confidence so that you can get more enjoyment from your riding. Tuition takes place in a safe off-road environment and we can provide a bicycle if you do not already have one. The training is tailored to your requirements and leads into the road cycling course once you have the necessary skills.

Cycling on the Road

This course enables you to ride more safely in today's traffic conditions. You will progress from quieter roads through tomore complex situations. The training is a combination of discussion and practice and will progress to suit you so that you can build up your confidence. Your instructor will also discuss your aims with you to make the course relevant. At the end of the course you should be confident to tackle all but the busiest of roads in a safe and assertive manner.

Advanced On-road Cycling

The advanced course is for people who already ride regularly in traffic but want to be safer and more confident.  Yourinstructor will customise the course to help you gain more enjoyment from your cycling by tackling particular situations or issues that you would like to overcome. Typically we would expect to be working on large-scale complex junctions, multi-lane roads and roundabouts, with a view to improving your safety when sharing the road with other users.

Family and Group Cycling

Parents often book us to teach their children how to ride safely. Once the children can ride we can also teach the wholefamily how to ride together as a group. This includes strategies for protecting and managing the children while riding on the road, allowing the family to ride further afield and get more out of their cycling activities.

If you are a group who would like to cycle together, or if you want to lead groups (eg Scouts/youth groups etc.) we can teach you how to manage and control groups safely and effectively both on and off-road.
